GSTR-1 Export: What "Ready" Means (and What It Doesn’t)

"GSTR-1-ready" is a claim about a file, not about a filing. This page states exactly what our export contains, how each invoice is routed into it, and what we refuse to do with it.

The boundary, first: FacturaFit generates documents and an export file. It does not file GSTR-1, does not talk to GSTN, and does not generate IRNs or e-invoices. You review the file in the official offline tool or portal and file it there. Any tool that blurs this line is asking you to trust it with your registration — we would rather you check the file yourself.

What is in the file

SectionWhat goes in it
b2bInvoices to registered recipients, grouped by recipient GSTIN: invoice number, date, total value, place-of-supply code, reverse-charge flag, invoice type, and rate-wise item details (taxable value with IGST/CGST/SGST/cess amounts).
b2clLarge B2C: inter-state invoices to unregistered recipients above ₹1,00,000 (the threshold in force for invoices from 1 August 2024), invoice by invoice, grouped by place of supply.
b2csAll other B2C supplies, summarised by place of supply, rate and supply type (intra/inter) — totals of taxable value and tax, not invoice by invoice.

Worked check: the Maharashtra→Maharashtra invoice from the generator page (10 × ₹1,000 at 18%, buyer GSTIN present) lands in b2b with item detail rate 18, CGST amount ₹900, SGST amount ₹900, IGST ₹0. The same sale to a walk-in customer lands in b2cs as an INTRA summary row. A ₹2,00,000 inter-state sale to a consumer lands in b2cl, invoice-wise.

What gets excluded — loudly

An invoice whose recipient GSTIN fails format or checksum validation is excluded from b2b and the export tells you which invoice and why. Silently exporting it as valid would plant a wrong credit in someone else's return; silently dropping it would understate yours. Exclusion with a reason is the only honest third option.

Schema status — stated, dated

Current status: UNVERIFIED AT BUILD (checked 2026-11-08). In plain terms: the export is built to the section and field structure published for the GSTN offline tool, and labelled "review before filing" everywhere it is offered. The official GSTN offline-tool schema download (gst.gov.in/download) was not reachable from the build environment on 2026-11-08 (HTTP 404/503). The export is built strictly to the section/field structure described in SPEC-C2 and the long-published offline-tool format; it must be re-verified against the current GSTN offline-tool specification before being relied on, and it is labelled 'review before filing' everywhere. If a GSTN schema change is announced before this file is updated, set schema_status to PAUSED: the export then refuses to generate a file rather than silently produce a wrong one.

The watch rule, from our own operating cadence: GSTN schema announcements are checked as they happen. If the schema changes before this export is updated, the export pauses — the button refuses with an explanation — rather than produce a file that looks right and is not. A paused export is an inconvenience; a silently wrong one is a notice from the department.
